Joseph Anthony White
Joseph Anthony White, regarded by many as Jay White, is a happily married man and father of 3 beautiful kids, Joseph Jr., Timmy, and Bobbie. By day, Jay White is a Recreational Specialist at Project Renewal Fort Washington’s MICA (Mentally Ill & Chemically Addicted) Men’s Shelter. “Motivating and inspiring men to do better and be better is what I’m all about. I am a father to some, a big brother to many, but more importantly I am a non-judgmental human being to all men who reside in the shelter.” By night, Jay is an AFFA certified fitness instructor and owner of “Get Right With The Whites, Fitness and More”. Jay is a firm believer that motivation makes the world go round; so therefore, delivering motivation and installing determination into others isn’t just what he does, it’s who he is. Jay uses his story as a true motivating force to himself and others. Growing up in the Bronx, with a drug addicted mother and an absent father, enabled Jay to know and understand what loneliness feels like. To want someone to be there for you and guide you in the right direction. This is why he makes it his point to also make himself available to the youth. Jay knows their struggle, but also knows about hard work, perseverance and determination. Jay White is a motivated personable individual who has mastered the art of listening because he knows too well what it feels like when no one is listening. “I am no better than anybody else. It’s never about me, it’s always about the people I am surrounded by.”
